LEADERSHIP SYMPOSIUM

Leadership is a very important quality to have to which one can obtain by earning or being selected for a position.  Leadership is also a quality that employees look for in their supervisors and managers that determines whether the true loyalty and trust exists and permeates within an organization.

 

A PERSPECTIVE OF THE FACE OF LAW ENFORCEMENT FROM 1970 TO 2010

How has the face of law enforcement changed over the last forty years in regards to race, gender, education and crime?  A panel of retired, and current criminal justice professionals will give their professional and personal perspectives on this topic.

THE SECRET SERVICE'S DUTY TO PROTECT THE PRESIDENT & THE U.S. CURRENCY

The Secret Service is tasked to protect the President of the United States and other dignitaries.  They are also the agency whose duty is to investigate the counterfeiting of American currency.

 

THE WORK OF THE MARICOPA COUNTY MEDICAL EXAMINER'S OFFICE

The Office of the Maricopa County Medical Examiner does autopsies on the deceased including murder victims, unnatural deaths of the young and elderly, and found bodies.  Their work is crucial in assisting detectives, insurance agencies and others, to determine how, when and where a death occurred.

 

ROBBERY INVESTIGATIONS & PREDICTING SUSPECTS' BEHAVIOR

Robbery investigations are important to bring relief to the victims of robberies, aggravated robberies and armed robberies.  Successful tracking of serial robbers can lead to the apprehension of the suspect, spotting trends in an area, and sometimes the returning of stolen vehicles and property to the victim.

REDUCING RECIDIVISM IN THE 85041 ZIP CODE

The 85041 Zip Code has the largest quantity of ex-convicts residing in it than any zip code in the state of Arizona.  The Arizona Department of Corrections and the Maricopa County Adult Probation Department have a plan that has been implemented to reduce the recidivism; the quantity of ex-inmates to commit acts against their fellow citizens and to prevent them from returning to jail and prison.

 

 

THE JUDGE'S FORUM

The criminal justice system comes to a head during a trial.  Judges controls the court proceedings and administers sentences.  This session will explain more about judges, their duties and matters of law.
